Train for the Course Camp Series confirmed for 2025. Beginning in March, individual athletes, teams and clubs — at all levels — can come and train for specific races that are known for their challenging bike courses.
The Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains’ hilly and rolling terrain emulates many of these races in grade and elevation gain — terrain often hard to find in many East Coast and Midwest suburban regions.
Experiences are all-inclusive, turn key with fully supported rides, and offer a variety of lodging options and great culinary experiences. For added flexibility, 3,4 and 5-day camp passes will be available to accommodate work-life-train commitments with rolling arrivals and departures. Pun intended.
Get off the trainer, and your saddle, in prep for your hardest races. Take this opportunity to build your confidence, meet and train with other athletes, and gain your competitive edge on race day.

About Our Host

We are excited to announce our Camp Guide for the July 13-16th Train for the Course camp at First Bourn in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We are being joined by long-time competitive athlete, Metta Endurance coach, and First Bourn Advisory Board member, Sean Luitjens.

We are grateful to have an experienced athlete and coach leading this First Bourn camp for athletes of all abilities – with a common goal of building strength and confidence in more challenging terrain. As guide, Sean will be on site (and out training with the group) and help provide all the planning and support needed for the camp. In addition, Sean will also help athletes prep for the camp with dedicated 1:1 call sessions if needed.
While this is not a Metta Endurance camp, we are grateful for the expertise and partnership. Sean’s bio is below.

Sean Luitjens – Adventurer, Athlete & Advisor

Sean reps the OG bringing over 35 years and over 300 events of experience of triathlon, ultra, & adventure racing experience to First Bourn, and more importantly a love of playing & hanging outside with good humans. It only took one recon trip to the First Bourn NC site (be sure and ask about the Linville gorge story!) and he was fired up about the concept and amazing locations along the Blue Ridge Parkway. To subsidize his outdoor playtime, and pay a few bills, by day he is a developer turned business line leader in the SaaS software space and will be holding onto those nerd genes as long as possible. He currently lives and plays in the Berkshires of Western MA when not checking out new places to explore.
